Adamantia Chalkomata

AdamantiaAdamantia is currently completing her studies in Classics(BA) at the Department of Philology, University of Patras. In 2015 she received a scholarship for her participation in the European Programme Llp Erasmus Placement and she spent three months at the Griechische Schule in Frankfurt Am Main. Adamantia is a member of the editing team for the electronic version of @UP, the UPatras monthly newletter and she is also a member of the organizing committee of the Modern Greek and Comparative Literature workshop. She was as a member of the registration team for the International Conference on “Greek Satyr Play: Reconstructing a Dramatic Genre from its Remnants”. Finally, she participated in the “17th  Medicinal Chemistry Conference and James Watson’s Honoration” with the announcement “Mathematics and Literature: A new Literature genre?”. She is interested in travelling abroad and listening to music.

Dimitrios Cheilaris

Dimitris CheilarisDimitris is currently completing his studies in Classics (BA) at the Department of Philology, University of Patras. From 2013 until today he is recipient of the Bakalas Foundation scholarship. In 2015 he received a scholarship for his participation in the Programme Llp Erasmus Placement and spent a trimester at Griechische Schule in Frankfurt Am Main. Since 2014 Dimitris is a member of the organizing committee of Modern Greek and Comparative Literature workshop and the editing team for the electronic version of @UP, the UPatras monthly newletter. In July 2016 he participated as a member of the support team for the International Conference “Greek Satyr Play: Reconstructing a dramatic genre its Remnants”, and in August 2016 he participated in the 17th Medicinal-Chemistry International Conference with the announcement: “The Mathematical Reasoning as a Field of Narrative Action in the Novel Uncle Petros and Goldbach’s Conjecture: The Pursuit of  Beauty and Truth”. Finally, he regularly participates as a supervisor in foreign languages exams (English, French, German, Italian). Dimitris is interested in Contemporary Literature, Literary Theory and the Reception of Ancient Greek Literature in Modern Greek Literature and Culture.

Nikos Fragkopoulos

Nikos FragopoulosNikos Fragkopoulos is currently completing his studies in Classics (BA) at the Department of Philology, University of Patras. He participated in the 2nd 2015 Οhio & Patras Transatlantic Conversation on “Is Greek Tragedy Dead or Alive Today? The Paradigm of Medea.” (20 October 2015). He has worked as a secondary education teacher during his  internship in the Experimental High School, Patras. He was member of the support team for the International Conference on ‘‘Greek Satyr Play: Reconstructing a Dramatic Genre from its Remnants’’ (UPatras, Conference & Cultural Centre, 1-3 July 2016). He participated in ‘‘17th Medicinal Chemistry Conference and James Watson’s Honoration’’ with the announcement: ‘‘Math and Literature: Related Stories. Readings of a Hermetic World’’ (Spetses, 29 – 31 August 2016). He will participate  with announcement in the Conference: ‘‘Teaching Routes in Modern School’’ (UPatras, 14 – 16 October 2016).  He is especially interested in German Language and Literature, in Modern Greek and European Literature. In his free time he loves travelling abroad.

Fay Papadimitriou

Fay Papadimitriou holds a BA (Honors) in Classics from the Department of Philology, University of Patras and she is currently studying for the entry exams in the MA in Classics at the Department of Philology, UPatras. She participated in the “Lewis and Short Latin Dictionary” project of the UNDL Foundation as a freelancer (2013-2014) and in the 4th Annual International Scholars’ Symposium on “Sports, Society & Culture” co-organized by IOA (International Olympic Academy) and CHS (Center for Hellenic Studies) Harvard University (2015). She has worked as researcher in Byzantine history during her three-month internship in the National Hellenic Research Foundation (2015). She is interested both in Classics and Byzantine Studies. In her free time she enjoys gymnastics and Tae Kwon Do while she loves listening to music, watching films and travelling.

Theoni Papalexopoulou

Theoni PapalexopoulouTheoni is currently completing her studies in Classics (BA) from the Department of Philology, University of Patras. She is a member of the editing teams for the hard copy and the electronic version of @UP, the UPatras monthly newletter. She has participated twice in the International Symposium on “Sports, Society and Culture” co-organised by IOA (International Olympic Academy) and CHS (Center for Hellenic Studies) Harvard University (held in Ancient Olympia in 2015 and 2016). She is interested in ancient Greek philosophy, religion and allegory. In her free time she enjoys travelling and tango.

Sofia Papanastasiou

Sofia PapanastasiouSofia is currently completing her studies in Classics (BA) at the Department of Philology, University of Patras. From 2014 onwards she is a member of the organizing committee of Modern Greek and Comparative Literature workshop and the editing team for the electronic version of @UP, the UPatras monthly newletter. She was a member of the support team for the International Conference on “Greek Satyr Play : Reconstructing a Dramatic Genre from its Remnants” (1-3 July 2016). In her free time she enjoys reading books in English and dancing Greek traditional dances as well as meeting with her friends.

The UPatras Side of the Program
